Project: Mooncircle is a Berlin-based record label, founded in 2002 by Gordon Gieseking and specializing in combining hip hop and electronic music. Since his early adolescence Gieseking has been passionate about hip hop culture. He moved to the United States where he worked as an intern for small but nice record labels in Miami, Florida. Back in Germany he decided to found his own label and found the right partner in Thomas Ulrich and his mailorder hhv.de. Gieseking started off with signing some artists he knew from his time spent in the US. Step by step the roaster was extended and improved. Till this day more than 90 records have been released on Project: Mooncircle. In 2009 the sublabel Project: Squared has been founded. It is run by Paul Cooper, a companion and employee of PMC. Project: Squared focusses on the release of 12 Inches of dubstep and techno. In 2010 another sub label has been added: Finest Ego tries to unite the diversity of the worldwide beatmaker movement. Always looking for brand new progressions in Urban music and deep-rooted in hip hop culture at the same time, Project: Mooncircle is one of the most credible homes to beat-based music.
