The funky library classic »Flowers« by Benito Simoncini aka Zuni is back!

16.06.2025

Flowers, the Zuni album originally released on Titian Records in 1983, will be officially re-released on July 25, 2025. Behind the project is Italian composer and multi-instrumentalist Benito Simoncini, who has also performed under the names Luciano Simoncini, Arawak, Jason Black and Benito Simons. Flowers is considered one of his most independent works – an instrumental funk-rock album between studio craftsmanship, genre diversity and atmospheric openness.

Guitars, Keys, Room

While the A-side is characterized by driving guitar riffs and a bluesy groove, tracks like »Ilex« or »Viburno« on the B-side open up more spherical soundscapes with deep basses, shimmering synths and spacey sound effects. The reissue is released as part of the Edizioni Leonardi series on the Italian label BTF exclusively by HHV in a limited to 250 copies Clear Blue Vinyl Edition for this year’s »Summer of Jazz«.
