British producer James Holden and Polish clarinettist Wacław Zimpel will perform at Berlin’s Gretchen on 30 November 2025. Together they present their album The Universe Will Take Care of You — a work that seems to emerge from another sphere, an extraterrestrial sound offering uplift in an age of inward retreat. Between body and atmosphere, structure and chance, their music creates a weightless suspension that resists definition.

Between trance and weightlessness
Holden and Zimpel move between hypnotic electronics, free improvisation and meditative stillness. At times pulsing, at others drifting, their pieces unfold a trance that feels both raw and intricately refined. With violin, synth, harmonium, Indian flute and hand percussion, they create on stage less a performance than a process of mutual listening — a lyrical dialogue that ultimately dissolves into a moment of pure weightlessness.
