Renowned British electronic music composer Matthew Herbert will present his latest album »The Horse« in Berlin. In collaboration with the London Contemporary Orchestra, he will perform at the Theater des Westens on October 18, 2023 as part of the TingelTangel event series. Herbert is known for working exclusively with new sounds in his musical productions. As he proclaimed in his own 2003 manifesto, »The use of pre-existing sounds is not allowed.« And he takes this very seriously.

The connection between horse and man

For this album, several new instruments were made from various bones of a racehorse skeleton, bringing the animal back to life musically.

The album explores the connection between humans and horses and delves into the cultural and historical significance of the animals.
