Recorded with lesser-known studio musicians and released on the legendary Lupus Records label, Telemusica N. 6 is one of the rare finds in Italian library history. Released in 1973, the compilation offers a stylistic tour through the ramifications of jazz, from a lascivious lounge sound to exciting funk grooves and abstract experiments.
On behalf of the unusual
The twelve pieces are by Romano Rizzati (aka Corfull), Luigi Zito (aka Litoz), and Italo Fischetti – musicians who have rarely been in the spotlight, but who are among the most experimental voices in Italian jazz. The spectrum ranges from relaxed bop to dramatically charged sound designs typical of Italian library records from the early 1970s. The electronically alienated “Valzer Grottesco” and the final trio of improvisation pieces, reminiscent of Ennio Morricone’s Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, are particularly striking.
On July 25, 2025, Telemusica N. 6 will be reissued by BTF for the first time as part of the Edizioni Leonardi series – exclusively in a 250-piece limited clear blue vinyl edition for this year’s Summer of Jazz.
