The Mighty Mocambos are returning to the stage – and not alone: With new material in their luggage, the Hamburg funk collective will play several concerts in Germany in the coming months, including in Hamburg, Berlin, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Munich and Stuttgart. The shows mark the return of a band that has stood for handmade breakbeats, soulful horn arrangements and a distinct DIY attitude for almost two decades. From club gigs to b-boy battles to festivals, the name Mighty Mocambos has long been associated with energetic live funk.

More playful than ever
The reason for the tour is the new album A Higher Frequency, which will be released on June 6, 2025 on Mocambo Records. The LP was recorded live-to-tape with a nine-piece line-up at the legendary MPS Studio in the Black Forest – complete with vintage technology and a spiritual groove vibe. Between crime funk, soulful jazz themes and psychedelic energy, the band presents itself as raw, tight and playful as never before. A record as much as a live statement – with guests like Carlton Jumel Smith, Daniel Kimaz and Guillaume Métenier. The limited orange vinyl edition is available exclusively at HHV Records.
