Wooden Shijps have announced a new album for May 25, 2018. It’s her first album in five years, her fifth album at all and it’s called »V« (like the Roman numeral). The fact that the psych rockers from San Francisco, who are well-known for their hippie-like, reminding of The Grateful Dead sound, brought the Victory sign »V« to the centre of attention in this mushroom dream of a cover, makes any use of clichés (that has been known so far) seem like a cliché. It is what it is. In recent years, guitarist Ripley Johnson had gained a lot of recognition for The Moon Duo, which he and his wife Sanae Yamada ran together, and thus degraded his main project to a side project a little bit. But that could change now. The 8 minutes long piece »Staring At The Sun« was released these days, announcing already a promising summer.
