Jay-Z (Shawn Corey Carter, b. 1969) is an American MC from New York City. He is co-founder of the record label Roc-A-Fella Records, run the record label Def Jam from 2004 til 2007 and is co-owner of the basketball club New Jersey Jets and owner of the fashion label Rocawear. He is married to Beyoncé Knowles.
